Your Delivery

Turf Online aims to give its customers the best possible experience by delivering the best quality products for sale in the UK. Therefore, all our perishable products are harvested fresh to order the day before delivery!

Delivery charges and services vary by different types of turf and delivery location. Charges are confirmed at checkout before payment. If your order includes grass turf, topsoil, Wildflower Turf or Sedum mats, you can choose your delivery day. You should arrange for live products to be delivered on the day you will lay them. Reducing the amount of time the product is stored means significantly less potential nuisance when it comes to installation; certain issues will not have had a chance to rise. All other products are delivered within 5 working days (or usually sooner!).

How Is Your Product Delivered?

We recommend that you only make arrangements for tradespeople to carry out work on your behalf after your turf or other products have been delivered.

PLEASE NOTE: Turf, Wildflower Turf, Sedum Mats and bulk Bag products are delivered on a pallet and can only be delivered to the kerbside.

Most of our products for sale in the UK will be delivered by being transported by a pallet courier that primarily uses 18-tonne rigid trucks that are built for reaching the majority of UK addresses. However, it is possible that your delivery could be made on a larger vehicle. If access or other restrictions prevent vehicles above a certain size reaching your address, or there are other offloading or parking restrictions which could affect the delivery, let us know in the delivery notes section of checkout so that special delivery arrangements can be made. Please make sure you double check the delivery postcode and address carefully as after your order has been shipped, it is likely we will not be able to make any amendments to your order or address.

Delivery is unloaded using a manual pallet trolley which is lowered to the road by the tail lift on the truck. Unfortunately, we do not offer Hiab (truck-mounted crane) deliveries. To offload the pallet, the surface must be flat and level. Since Turf, Wildflower Turf, Sedum and topsoil can be heavy, and the pallet trolley pulled by the driver has small wheels, pallets cannot be delivered onto soil, grass or gravel – a tarmac or paved surface is required.

Kerbside delivery means that our products for sale in the UK is delivered as close as possible to the delivery address you provide. Our helpful drivers will do their best to place your delivery where you wish, such as a driveway, but this is at their discretion. What Issues Could Arise With Delivery?

If your product delivery cannot be made due to a reason you failed to make us aware of, the full cost of distribution and products will still be charged to you. We are proud that most of our turf deliveries arrive on time. Sometimes, circumstances beyond our control (extreme weather, road accidents, vehicle breakdowns or IT failures) can delay delivery, but we will make every effort to keep you updated in such an event.

Sedum Pitched Roof Kit We have designed our Sedum Green Roof Kits for roofs with a slope of between 3 and 20 degrees. So please check out our Flat Roof Kits if you have a flat roof with a slope of 3 degrees or less. More than just a fad or decorative novelty, a living green roof provides myriad benefits. Not only can they help prevent flooding, filter pollutants from the air, absorb noise and provide food they can also provide shelter for a variety of wildlife. Moreover, each one of our pitched green roof kits comes with the main ingredients that you need to transform your gently sloping roof. So it can become a true green sedum roof. Each kit contains a root barrier to protect your waterproofing from any potential root damage, as well as a living carpet of gorgeous hardy sedum plants. So from the moment you unroll Enviromat® Sedum Matting your roof will be carpeted with vegetation. Composition We seed each of the sedum mats we use in our Enviromat® sedum roof kits with up to 17 different types of sedum. Each one has been nurtured outdoors in our nursery for at least 9 – 12 months. We ensure that every single plant is strong enough to dispatch to you, ensuring the best quality sedum mats for your green roofs. In addition, each plant species is chosen for its disease resistance, drought tolerance, long flowering period and enviable good looks. Why create a green roof? All of our matting is made using recycled materials and products, so you can feel safe that your new green roof kit is environmentally friendly from nursery to home. Not only that but it is strong and easy to install; carefully designed to keep the growing medium within the mat. This means that you won’t see any loss of substrate through the handling or transportation of the green roof kit, or from heavy rain after installation. What to expect in a green roof kit Our green roof kits all come with sedums that are drought-tolerant. So they should only need to be watered occasionally during extended periods of dry weather. On top of this, they are all low maintenance and only require a specialist sedum feed every spring. Unless your roof is pitched at a steep angle or exposed to a drying wind. Three ways to create a green roof For potential sedum roofs with a pitch of 10 degrees or more, we strongly recommend installing an irrigation system and applying feed in early spring and early summer. Enviromat makes a splash at Tatton Key Points Flowering Time: April – September (depending on local weather conditions). Height when fully grown is generally around 15cm but can vary. Plants are perennial and frost-hardy down to around -20 degrees Celcius. Enviromat® sedum matting is mown before despatch to minimise damage to plants. They will not be in flower when it is delivered. Installable at any time of the year. The balance of plant species is affected by soil type, management, pollinator populations and local climate conditions. Expect your Enviromat® Sedum Matting to change appearance from year to year.
