Your Delivery

Turf Online aims to give its customers the best possible experience by delivering the best quality products for sale in the UK. Therefore, all our perishable products are harvested fresh to order the day before delivery!

Delivery charges and services vary by different types of turf and delivery location. Charges are confirmed at checkout before payment. If your order includes grass turf, topsoil, Wildflower Turf or Sedum mats, you can choose your delivery day. You should arrange for live products to be delivered on the day you will lay them. Reducing the amount of time the product is stored means significantly less potential nuisance when it comes to installation; certain issues will not have had a chance to rise. All other products are delivered within 5 working days (or usually sooner!).

How Is Your Product Delivered?

We recommend that you only make arrangements for tradespeople to carry out work on your behalf after your turf or other products have been delivered.

PLEASE NOTE: Turf, Wildflower Turf, Sedum Mats and bulk Bag products are delivered on a pallet and can only be delivered to the kerbside.

Most of our products for sale in the UK will be delivered by being transported by a pallet courier that primarily uses 18-tonne rigid trucks that are built for reaching the majority of UK addresses. However, it is possible that your delivery could be made on a larger vehicle. If access or other restrictions prevent vehicles above a certain size reaching your address, or there are other offloading or parking restrictions which could affect the delivery, let us know in the delivery notes section of checkout so that special delivery arrangements can be made. Please make sure you double check the delivery postcode and address carefully as after your order has been shipped, it is likely we will not be able to make any amendments to your order or address.

Delivery is unloaded using a manual pallet trolley which is lowered to the road by the tail lift on the truck. Unfortunately, we do not offer Hiab (truck-mounted crane) deliveries. To offload the pallet, the surface must be flat and level. Since Turf, Wildflower Turf, Sedum and topsoil can be heavy, and the pallet trolley pulled by the driver has small wheels, pallets cannot be delivered onto soil, grass or gravel – a tarmac or paved surface is required.

Kerbside delivery means that our products for sale in the UK is delivered as close as possible to the delivery address you provide. Our helpful drivers will do their best to place your delivery where you wish, such as a driveway, but this is at their discretion. If your delivery address is hard to find or the property is a new build, consider using what3words to pinpoint your delivery location. More information on what3words can be found in our Help Centre.

What Issues Could Arise With Delivery?

If your product delivery cannot be made due to a reason you failed to make us aware of, the full cost of distribution and products will still be charged to you. We are proud that most of our turf deliveries arrive on time. Sometimes, circumstances beyond our control (extreme weather, road accidents, vehicle breakdowns or IT failures) can delay delivery, but we will make every effort to keep you updated in such an event.

Species Rich A lawn created with Meadowmat® Species Rich Lawn Turf will be hardwearing, incredibly easy to care for and a real asset to biodiversity. We’ve blended 11 species of slow-growing grasses with 33 types of colourful pollinator-friendly native perennial plants. The result is a multi-coloured carpet of plants just right for relaxing or playing on.   Maintenance Meadowmat® Species Rich wildflower turf only needs mowing every other week. But it won’t grow too much more than ankle height. So, we have designed it for a relaxed maintenance regime. As a result you can happily leave it while you take a holiday. Not only that but if you work in an organisation where landscape maintenance budgets are tight – think how much money you could save by mowing less frequently! The specially selected grasses ensure full coverage all year round. So even in winter there will be coverage when other flowering plants are asleep. As for hot dry summers, Meadowmat® Species Rich will keep its colour for longer than a standard grass lawn. Not only that but it will recover from drought much more quickly. Install Meadowmat® Species Rich just like standard lawn turf. So lay it onto prepared soil. Unlike most types of wildflower turf, Species Rich can tolerate slightly more nutrient-rich soils. Then keep your new lawn watered until the roots are well established. Meadowmat Species Rich Coverage Each slab of Meadowmat Species Rich wildflower turf measures 500mm (19.6″) wide by 1000mm (39.2″) long so two slabs will cover 1m². Please note we sell this product by the square metre. Want to Grow Your Own from Seed? The mix of wildflowers found in Species Rich Meadowmat wildflower turf is also available as a seed mix . So, if you would like to grow your own from scratch or you just want to add some extra colour try that.   Meadowmat Species Rich – Composition   75% Slow-Growing Grasses Brown Top Bent Sheeps Fescue Chewings Fescue Slender Creeping Red Fescue Creeping Bent Small Leaved Timothy Crested Dogs Tail Smooth Meadow Grass Perennial Ryegrass Sweet Vernal Grass Rough Stalked Meadow Grass   25% Native Wildflowers For more information about each flower, or to purchase more of the individual species, click on the links below:   Autumn Hawkbit Read More Buy More Birdsfoot Trefoil Read More Buy More Black Medick Read More Bladder Campion Read More Buy More Bugle Read More Common Catsear Read More Buy More Common Daisy Read More Buy More Common Knapweed Read More Buy More Common Mouse-ear Read More Buy More Common Sorrel Read More Buy More Cowslip Read More Buy More Creeping Buttercup Read More Buy More Crimson Clover Read More Crosswort Read More Dove’s Foot Cranesbill Read More Early Crocus Read More Buy More Eyebright Read More Fernleaf Fiddleneck Read More Fox and Cubs Read More Buy More Germander Speedwell Read More Hoary Plantain Read More Lady’s Bedstraw Read More Buy More Meadow Buttercup Read More Buy More Meadow Saxifrage Read More Buy More Rough Hawkbit Read More Buy More Salad Burnet Read More Selfheal Read More Buy More Small Scabious Read More Buy More Tufted Vetch Read More Buy More White Clover Read More Buy More Winter Aconite Read More Buy More Yarrow Read More Buy More Yellow Rattle Read More Buy More   Please install perishable living products – like Meadowmat – on the day of delivery. In the unlikely event that your product does not arrive in good condition please get in touch immediately with photos showing the issue. The actual percentage of each species contained may vary due to environmental factors. We make every effort to ensure wildflower products are free from weeds and pests, however due to the natural way in which these products are grown we cannot guarantee they are 100% pest  free on delivery. It is unlikely that you will see every species that is listed. We have developed a variety of species to suit a wide variety of soils and environmental conditions. This will result in a product that will adapt to individual settings which may mean some species are more successful than others. Contains annual and perennial species.  If installed after March many species may not flower during the first year.

Delivery Information

Smaller items like plants, plugs and seeds will be delivered by a parcel courier if ordered on their own. If your order includes a bulky item we will try and consolidate your deliveries into as few as possible.

Some items may be despatched from different locations which means they may be delivered separately to other items on your order. If this is the case it will show this on the item description.

We use Royal Mail for items up to 2kg. DPD for 5kg or more (e.g. 150 plugs), and DHL for parcels up to 30kg.

Current dispatch times are as follows: up to 3 days for orders that just contain seeds, up to 14 days for orders that contain Wildflower Plugs and up to 7 days for all other orders.

Currently we do not offer the ability to select your delivery day for items delivered on a parcel courier.
